Writing Experience
I worked as a commercial writer in the latter part of the 90s, after leaving front-line positions in the City of London. During that period, I produce newsletters, web copy, letters of complaint and brochures.
I created marketing material, and promoted Norwegian timber and Polish software products through Internet and hard copy articles, as well as through cold calling to identify new customers.
Article marketing was also used successfully to promote various products through affiliate marketing for businesses in the UK and abroad.

Previous Occupations
I have a varied background, which is a great help when writing for clients with business and personal interests that spread far and wide.
At the risk of boring you with too much information, I will briefly detail three main areas, where my experience is relevant to commercial writing.
Domestic and International Finance
Until 1992, I was in domestic and international banking, working for British, American, Japanese and various European institutions. I became a Eurobond dealer/trader and Head of Money Markets at Associate Director level. Daily turnover was in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
I travelled to the Far East, Europe and Scandinavia to engage with clients and create working relationships.
Software Outsourcing
I spent five years outsourcing British software projects to a company in Jaipur India. Part of this involved arranging and participating in business meetings, taking notes and writing detailed software wish lists to pass back to developers in India.
Affiliate Marketing
Principally using article marketing, SEO and social media, I have spent roughly fifteen years successfully promoting various products manufactured by other companies and individuals.
While I have managed to maintain a home and family using affiliate marketing, independent research indicates that only 30% of people attempting affiliate marketing ever make a dime!

Fiction Writing
I’ve written a number of short stories for younger children, and I’m roughly 2/3 of the way through a full-length novel for young adults. I intend to self publish some time towards the end of 2021.
